Does anyone know much about Bacterial Vaginosis?

I was treated for BV. I really didn't know I had it until i noticed an unpleasant odor after . I read online to apply yogurt and also eat yogurt which was fine. I don't have any other symptoms lie discharge or itchiness. It was just that one time with the odor. Like a fishy smell (sorry to gross anyone out). It went away after applying the yogurt. The next month i noticed it come back but very light. Then the next month again. It seems to be happening only the 2nd and 3rd day after my period finishes but only after . I took Flagyl pills for 5 days. The doctor did not prescribe any creams. When I finished it, i noticed after my period again on the 2nd and 3rd day there is only a slight very very slight change in the way it smells down there. Nothing crazy only I can notice since I know how my body is. So my question is (since my doctor is closed today I can not call)...... 1.) Does that mean the Flagyl didn't work? 2.) Did I also need to take a cream with the pills? And 3.) She said my husband didn't need to take any pills but is that true? Does he really need to? Why do you think this is? I wash with water all the time when i use the bathroom and after . I don't douche since I heard that is bad. Is it the sperm that is doing that? Any suggestions? I noticed it right after i finished the medication too so i thought it would help. i am negative for all other things
