I'm confused about Cervical mucus(sorry for tmi)?

I have been checking my cervical mucus this month and i took a ovulation test on the 4th and 5th and they were positive but my CM was still dry. I started cramping on the 6th and still am told but my CM is only the creamy type before egg white. I'm really confused because shouldn't I have ovulated and saw egg white by now? My were sore on the 5th and 6th. I'm just really confused! any help would be nice Sorry for tmi
