Woman only; personal question?

So my birthday is tomorrow and I'm having a party at my lake house. Well, obviously...lake = swimming = bathing suit = shaving. While I was shaving I noticed a small lump where most of the pubic hair is (sorry dont know the medical terminology) but it doesnt hurt. It just looks like part of my skin has swelled up down there or something, or I have developed a lump thats the same as skin color. Should this be a concern? I get weird talking to my mom about personal stuff, dunno why I just do. Any advice?
