Are all, or at least most, human beings self-aware?

It would seem that if they can use the personal "I" in a sentence, then they are self-aware - of course, that's using fairly lax criteria, perhaps not the sort you intended with your philosophical qualification. Now, as to the question of automata, that's much trickier. The standards for automata are such that any living being (con vita), would be beyond the 'automatic' nature of automata. However, if your claim is aimed at positing that humanoids are guilty of walking around in a sort of cognitive daze, from which their slumber is quite consistent, then, I tend to agree with that. Dysophia hurts the sound mind.
