I have less than 48 hours for someone to take my fish....what if they don't?

I am moving and despite desparate pleas to friends and online ads to give them away for free, no one seems interested in taking them! They come with a small/med size fish tank and accessories that are quite new. The fish themselves are "only" two goldfish, but they are over 2 years old and still very healthy. I can't fathom the idea of killing (aka flushing) them simply because they are inconvenient. I have ads online and asked friends but I live in a small town and there aren't many other options (spca is not an option...if they even take fish). I'm starting to panic because I don't want to "kill" them even if it is just by leaving them outside or something. Any animal lover have advice for me?
