Taking medicine abroad with different surname? my sister although divorced is still known by her married name?

at the doctors-she uses her maiden name on her pport etc. she needs to carry medicine on holiday abroad to europe but it will be in her married name. The doctor has told her that if she wants to go bk to her maiden name at the surgery then she will have to change her name by deed poll. does this sound right?
